The Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) is an independent, multi-disciplinary organisation dedicated to the promotion and protection of collective human health and wellbeing.
Through advocacy, mediation, empowerment, knowledge and practice we advise on policy development, provide education and training services, encourage scientific research, disseminate information and certify products, training centres and processes.
Vaccination, immunisation and infection control, and ensuring good prevention of disease, is a priority for the RSPH. We are currently working to develop a vaccination strategy for the future and (with support from vaccination public health groups) will be encouraging vaccine uptake and educating the public on the importance of immunisation.
“The goals of this working group, to educate audiences about pneumococcal disease, provide policy recommendations and practical education align very well with the wider work of the RSPH in this area. We are delighted to be a member of the working group and hope to make a real impact in the battle against this devastating disease.” Dr Selwyn Hodge, Chair, Royal Society for Public Health.
